The Morning Preparations
This was my first Oak Tree of Peover wedding photography experience and it did not disappoint.
Sam and Adam's wedding was a real highlight for me as I had already met them when I photographed the wedding of Sam’s sister, Hayley at Styal Lodge three years earlier.
We hit it off straight away and with Hayley and James expecting their first baby and Sam’s dad who is always so welcoming, not to mention Adam’s skills on the dancefloor, I knew it was going to be a fantastic day.
My day started with Sam and her entourage at the pretty Curlew Cottage, which is just three minutes away from the Oak Tree of Peover. The morning was full of laughs and had such a relaxed atmosphere. Not even the torrential rain could dampen their spirits.
Wedding Ceremony at the Oak Tree of Peover
Soon it was time to head over to the Oak Tree of Peover. Set in a 165 acre estate in the heart of Cheshire, the venue is surrounded by beautiful countryside views and is perfect for all civil wedding ceremonies come rain or shine.
The venue has recently been extended and now has a new oak frame building, which made the entire day flow so smoothly, with the ceremony held in one room and the wedding breakfast beautifully set up in another.
As Sam made her entrance with her dad holding her arm the entire way. The emotion in the room could be felt by everyone and it was at this point that I think it all became very real for Sam and she shed a tear or two.
After the ceremony everyone headed into the Acorn Lounge, for drinks, canapes, hugs kisses and laugher and later, while everyone was being seated for dinner, we took the opportunity for Sam and Adam to have a few moments to themselves, sheltered from the rain while I hid in bushes to get a few sneaky shots of them.
Soon it was time for the newlyweds to make their entrance and enjoy their wedding breakfast before the speeches. Sam’s dad didn’t disappoint and gave a wonderful heartfelt speech which certainly tugged on the heartstrings.
The rain didn’t let up all day, so with a little creativity we managed to get the sparkler shot Sam and Adam had hoped for before dancing commenced to a backdrop created by the one and only The Word is Love, crêpe's were eaten and fun was had in the amazing Birdie Camper Van Photobooth. What a great addition to the wedding day, you have to check this van out!
I thoroughly enjoyed my first Oak Tree of Peover wedding photography experienced. A fantastic venue made all the better for me being surrounded by friendly, familiar faces.
Thank you also to the fantastic staff at the Oak Tree of Peover and Top Table Weddings and Events for looking after me.
