Emma and John's unexpectedly sunny Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Day

A Personal Church Ceremony

Emma and John’s wonderful Sandhole Oak Barn wedding was a combination of smiles, laughter, spectacular sunsets and incredible live music. A fun wedding from start to finish.

The day started with me joining Emma at her parent’s house along with her bridesmaids. I was also lucky to be working alongside the incredibly talented James Wray, who was taking care of video for the day. Emma and her friends enjoyed a couple of glasses of fizz, pampering and some selfie action while her dad took care of the washing up.

After Emma stunned everyone in her beautiful wedding dress, we all made our way to her family church where John was waiting with some pre-wedding nerves. The ceremony was a lovely personal affair and I don’t believe Emma stopped smiling the entire way though. The rain was coming down by the time they left the church, so it was straight into their classic wedding car where they were greeted with a bottle of champagne for their journey to Sandhole Oak Barn.

Sandhole Oak Barn Reception

Incredibly, during the journey, the rain gave way to sunshine and we were blessed with blue skies for the rest of the day. Sandhole is the perfect sunny day wedding venue. Its rustic barn, sweeping fields and its glorious lake makes for the perfect backdrop to any wedding reception.

Sandhole Oak Barn is situated within the picturesque Cheshire countryside. It’s a privately-owned venue attached to a working farm and so provides many wonderful and contrasting wedding photography opportunities.

From the long driveway, to the working barns and out-buildings, there are so many options which provide great backdrops and interesting light for photographs. There is also the added bonus of luxury accommodation just a few steps from the wedding barn. So not too far for you to travel after you have hung up your dancing shoes for the night.

After some drinks, canapes and a mass of confetti, it was time for Emma and John to make their grand entrance into the barn for their wedding breakfast. Sandhole is catered for by the simply incredible Top Table Wedding and Events team. Professional, friendly, always willing to go above and beyond, not to mention unbelievably good food. With top table on hand, Emma, John and their guests were well looked after.

Sunsets and Dancing

After the meal and some cracking speeches, we noticed that we were being treated to the most amazing sunset, so we popped into the fields at the back of the barn to capture some photo’s in the evening light.

There was plenty of time for Emma and John to greet their evening guests before the real fun started on the dancefloor with non-other than The Rush providing the evenings live entertainment. There were some truly brilliant moments to be captured, including one guest duetting with the band’s sax player with her very own air-saxophone!

It was a pleasure to be able to provide Emma and John’s Sandhole Oak Barn wedding photography and what a fantastic day to capture from start to finish.
