Heaton House Farm Wedding Photography
Katy and Ryan's fun filled wedding day
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Heaton House Wedding Venue on three previous occasions; my first experience of this incredible venue was for a photography workshop, then, second-shooting for my photography friend, James Tracey, and lastly, on the other side of the camera, as a guest for my friend’s amazing wedding last spring. So I was really excited for my first opportunity to photograph a wedding of my own at this incredible venue.
My Heaton House Farm wedding photography began by meeting up with Katy while she was getting ready in one of the venue’s gorgeous rooms. These are not just bedrooms, but instead cater perfectly for the bridal preparation; huge rooms, tons of natural light and a dressing table big enough for a bride and her entourage. It was a very peaceful and relaxed morning while Katy was pampered by the incredibly talented Ashley and Nyla.
Ryan was staying in another room across the courtyard, so I was able to pop over to see him for a few moments just before the ceremony, which was an added bonus.
Wedding Ceremony and Reception at Heaton House Farm
The ceremony took place in the Heaton House Farm wedding marquee. Ryan waited patiently for Katy and received a few words of encouragement from his best man just before Katy arrived, escorted by her very proud father. The ceremony itself was a lovely combination of heartfelt vows, happy tears and a few giggles, with Katy and Ryan beaming the whole way though.
After lots of kisses and congratulations it was time for the newlyweds and their guests to head outside for drinks, canapes and some bouncy castle action. I’m not sure who enjoyed the bouncy castle more, the kids or the big kids!
While the guests were being well catered for, we took the opportunity for Katy and Ryan to have a few minutes of quiet time. We took a little walk around the grounds, enjoying the private garden, the incredible views and the cool backdrop of the working farm, while I made the most of the fantastic opportunities for me to capture some relaxed wedding photography of Katy and Ryan together.
It was then time to head back inside for the speeches. This is by far one of my favourite parts of a wedding day. The reactions of people are wonderful, with so many emotions, it’s a joy to witness and to capture.
After they enjoyed their fantastic meal, it was soon time for the evening entertainment and, of course, for Katy and Ryan’s first dance, complete with a shower of bubbles followed by a touching moment when Katy and her dad shared a dance.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first Heaton House Farm wedding photography experience and hope I will get an opportunity to return soon.
Here is just a small collection of photographs from Katy and Ryan’s fantastic wedding day.
